On October 5, the Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus conducted its mass induction to officially recognize the new set of leaders for the Academic Year 2023-2024, at the campus gymnasium.

Dr. Irmalyn R. Alejandro, Director of Academic Affairs, highlighted the roles and duties of student-leaders and further reminded them to balance their time as students and as leaders of their organization.

“Ang pinakamahalaga at higit sa lahat, laging tandaan, ay ang tamang pagbalanse sa ating nakaatang na tungkulin bilang official student-leaders at ang ating responsibilidad bilang isang responsableng mag-aaral na sana hindi ito ang maging hadlang upang pabayaan natin ang ating pag-aaral o gawaing pang-akademiko,” she said.

Moreover, Atty. Christian A. Gonzales, Adviser to the City Mayor for Youth Development Affairs, served as the inducting officer, leading the oath-taking ceremony for both student-leaders and advisers of each organization as they formally took on their respective roles.

Gonzales shared his message to the student visionaries, reminding them that leadership starts in the four corners of the classroom; further elaborating on how to improve themselves as leaders.

“Leadership starts in your classroom; if you cannot be a leader to a small group of people, you cannot be a leader to a huge number of people. Pagpraktisan niyo ngayon ‘yung organization ninyo, pagpraktisan niyo ngayon ‘yung mga classroom ninyo, pagpraktisan ninyo ‘yung mga lugar kung saan kayo ang lider,” he cited for student-leaders to follow.

Furthermore, Dr. Precila C. Delima, Executive Officer, delivered her message to congratulate the new batch of officers, encouraging them to become an advocate of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

“Let us promote all the 17 SDGs as we go toward the university as a smart and sustainable university and as an SDG-engaged university,” Delima added.

The event transitioned to an acquaintance program where Student Body Organization (SBO) presidents delivered their messages.

Performances from the Music Ensemble concluded the event.
