To formally recognize the newly elected leader of the highest governing body of Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC), the academic institution conducted its turnover ceremony, during which the Outgoing Supreme Student Council (SSC) President, Kristy Jane M. Labbuanan, handed over the key of responsibility to the incoming president of the council, Jord Denzel U. Gante, at the campus gymnasium, October 5.

Gante encouraged the student-leaders to unite as one, including all classroom presidents, Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), and Student Body Organizations (SBOs) of each academic unit, to help ISU-CCC reach the peak of success and enhance its value.

“I am not a perfect person, and I’m also not a perfect leader, because in reality, those dudes [do] not exist; there’s no such thing as a perfect person, and there’s no such thing as a perfect leader. What exists is a leader that is committed, hardworking, passionate, and a leader that will make sacrifices,” he said.

In addition, Labbuanan proudly shared their accomplishment report for the Academic Year 2022-2023. The first semester included a series of events and initiatives specifically, the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), University Meet, and resolutions. The second semester featured activities such as first-ever Masquerade Ball, Civil Service Examination (CSE) review, Leadership Camp, Kawayan Students’ Festival, the renovation of the College of Education (CED) building, among others, strengthening the campus.

“I am very much grateful for the trust you have given to me. Thank you, my beloved ISUdyantes for giving me the chance and opportunity to lead the entire studentry for one whole year,” she stated, recalling that a leader is someone who is great yet humble enough to serve others.

The relinquishment of the key of responsibility bannered with the theme, “Ascent of Empowered Torchbearers: Embracing the Emergence of Student Leaders.”
