Toss coin victory after a tie; Gante wins as FSGC President

To promote leadership at Cauayan City, the Local Government Unit (LGU), in collaboration with the Local Youth Office (LYDO) and SK Federation Bamboo, conducted the election of officers today for the Federation of Student Governments and Councils (FSGC) of the city for the School Year 2023-2024 at the Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus amphitheater.

In accordance with the by-laws and constitution of the FSGC, in the event of a tied vote, the presiding officer is responsible for facilitating a tiebreaker, such as a coin toss or any mutually agreed-upon method.

Hence, in the election for FSGC president, which resulted in an 11-11 tie vote between Jord Denzel Gante and Crystal Quim Diwa, Atty. Christian Gonzales, the presiding officer, initiated the coin toss, resulting in a 2-1 standing.

Gante expressed his surprise and gratitude, stating in an interview, “My heart is filled with gratitude, but I’m a bit surprised because I was not expecting to win.”

The elected officers for FSGC are as follows:

President: Jord Denzel Gante

Vice President for Tertiary Level Affairs: Crystal Quim Diwa

Vice President for Secondary School Affairs: John Rommel Ancheta

Secretary: Alexis Laoyan

Treasurer: Christian Soriano

Auditor: Nikhaella Sabado

Public Information Officer (PIO): John Lloyd Batuy

Business Managers: Caryl Acacio, Alexis Dalupang
