Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC) students Joemar Palting, Marc Robert Tretasco, and Mark Angelo Cornejo, presenting their innovative transportation app !NULL, competed against the other 24 applicants during iDeaTech Challenge 2023 as they underwent the final ideation workshop aimed at strengthening their pitch presentation to offer to the judges and clinch a spot among the Top 10 finalists.
As part of the final ideation workshop, the training workshops and mentoring sessions were geared towards presenting a noteworthy pitch, finance and value proposition to understanding their target market and the possibilities of start-up entrepreneurship.
“iDeaTech 2023 serves as a bridge between the academia and the industry, between ideas and actions. It is a statement to our commitment to empower the brilliant minds of today to become the trailblazers of tomorrow,” Dr. Precila Delima, Executive Officer of ISU-CCC, said in her welcoming remarks.
Dr. Betchie Aguinaldo, Dean of the College of Computing Studies Information and Communication Technology, as well as the Project Lead of Department of Science and Technology ISU Smart City Technology Business Incubator (DISC-TBI) who spearheaded the event, gave a brief overview of what the activity entailed, noting that it was set to cultivate the participants’ capabilities to (1) communicate their thoughts and ideas articulately; (2) be harbingers of ideation; and (3) take part in smart and sustainable projects.
“This is our community. I challenge you, ‘yung technology niyo ba, will [it] be able to help our own community?” she dared to the attendees.
Embodying the theme, “Fostering Smart and Sustainable Innovations: Igniting the Startup Economy using Smart City Technologies,” iDeaTech proved to be a platform that not only pushed for innovation but also nudged for the ingenuity for aspiring entrepreneurs and tech medias in a Start-Up Economy.
