Bachelor of Science in Computer Science students Ronalyn Cadeliña and Samirah Aubrey Manzano from Isabela State University-Echague Campus, along with Isaac Disoes from Mapúa University, won second place at the iDeaTech Challenge 2023 with their innovating pitch “AITECH Solutions”, an AI-based microcontroller and sensor that can detect different varieties of seed crop, concluding the event at the Mango Suites Hotel, September 20.

Under the guidance of their mentors, Dr. Jesusimo Dioses and Dr. Albert A. Vinluan, this talented trio distinguished themselves by earning a spot among the top 10 finalists and ultimately securing the place during the event’s final round.

Headed by the DOST ISU Smart City Technology Business Incubator (DISC TBI), the iDeaTech Challenge 2023 embraced students, graduates, faculty, and researchers from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of Region 2, as aspiring technopreneurs to fuel the Start-Up Economy through innovative and sustainable ideas and projects in line with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the government agency.

The event was officially launched on the same day, meeting its goals of fostering creative thinking, cultivating innovative and sustainable ideas, encouraging collaborative partnerships, and bolstering the attendees with effective pitch presentations for potential investors.
