Bannering the theme, “Integrating Sustainable Development Goals in Culture and Sports: Pathways in Realizations of Isabela State University as an SGD-Engaged University,” Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC) officially started the Campus Intramurals and Socio-Cultural Festival 2023 with a parade of colors, November 15.
Supreme Student Council (SSC) led the parade, followed by the students, athletes, and faculties of Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT), College of Education (CEd), School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), College of Computing Studies, Information and Communications Technology (CCSICT), College of Business and Management (CBM), Polytechnic School (PS), and College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), respectively.
In her opening address, Dr. Irmalyn R. Alejandro, Director of Academic Affairs, welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of the event.
“This festival is a celebration of diversity, fusion of talents, and a testament to the richness of cultural heritage by unlocking our potential in both sports and socio-cultural,” she said.
Additionally, Dr. Precila C. Delima, Executive Officer, represented by Teresita C. Molano, Executive Assistant, pinpointed good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, and reduced inequality as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that will be achieved in this program.
She also encouraged everyone saying, “Each of us plays a vital role, whether you are a coach, an athlete, participant, or cheererโyour involvement is integral.”
Meanwhile, Eduardo D. Mateo, Campus Sports Director formally opened the Intramurals 2023 after the lighting of torch by the 15 national SCUAA athletes.
