In a proactive move to uplift communities, the Isabela State University (ISU) Cauayan Cluster, comprising Cauayan City, Roxas, and San Mateo campuses, commenced their paper proposal to be evaluated and approved by the Budget Office for a smooth implementation of its extension projects for the upcoming year, held at the ISU-Cauayan City Campus’ (ISU-CCC) Hostel on October 26.

Dr. Josephine C. Cristobal, Extension Director of ISU-CCC, said in an interview with The Kawayan Communicator (TKC), that the said proposal reviews occur yearly with the aim of allocating budget to the respective projects for implementation.

“The objectives of this are for us to plan and have the best extension project that will be implemented for the next year,” she explained.

Cristobal also mentioned the proponents, which are the faculty members and beneficiaries coming from outside the institution; hence, the name “extension activities”.

“We need the help of the students in the implementation of the project because that is also needed for accreditations. Accreditors are also asking about the involvement of students in the implementation of our extension programs,” she added.

Furthermore, all proposals presented will soon be approved after undergoing evaluation and revision, which helps not only to promote faculty members but also to give back to the community.

An agency in-house review will be conducted where all completed activities will be contested within the ISU system, choosing the top three extension programs with the possibility of advancing to the regionals.

These extension programs are just one of four pillars of the university, which also encompasses research, instruction, and production for trusts.
