Honing their prowess in campus journalism, four staffers from The Kawayan Communicator (TKC), the official student publication of the Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC), garnered awards from an array of journalistic activities during the 20th Regional Higher Education Press Conference (RHEPC), held at the NGN Gran Hotel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, January 22-24.
In accordance with Republic Act No. 7079, otherwise known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1992, the event anchored the theme “AI and Ethics: Shaping the Future of Campus Journalism in the Digital Age”.
Here are the TKC staffers who received their achievements, respectively.

The individual events, hosted through the English and Filipino medium, are as follows: news writing, editorial writing, sports writing, feature writing, poetry writing, development communication writing, comic strip drawing, copy reading and headline writing, column writing, editorial cartooning, photojournalism, and literary graphics illustration.
To meet the standards of the advancing world of communication, RHEPC is conducted annually to enrich the publication-related management and journalistic writing competencies of the students along with their advisers. In which the TKC student-journalists are given the opportunity to showcase and test their skills outside of ISU-CCC.
The Cagayan Valley Association of Tertiary Press Advisers (CVATPA) spearheaded the said event, which was attended by 29 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs).
The region’s qualifiers are said to advance to the 19th Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) on March 19–21, 2024, in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
